Launch of ‘Bhagavadgita' book illustrated by Indian paintings’ Embassy of India, Paris 27 October

On 27 October, in the Embassy of India, 'La Bhagavadgitâ ilustrée par la peinture indienne' published by Ms. Diane de Selliers was launched. This is the first ever acclaimed illustration of Bhagavadgita in the history. Renowned philosopher Marc Ballanfat spoke on the concept of Yoga in Bhagavadgita and how it influenced Mahatma Gandhi and other world thinkers. Amina Taha-Hussein Okada, Curator of Indian paintings in Musée Guimet, spoke on the difficulty encountered by her in illustrating the book with 16th century Rajasthani and Pahari paintings. Publisher Diane de Selliers spoke on the inspiration for publishing this epic. Earlier, Deputy Chief of Mission Manish Prabhat while delivering his welcome remarks at the event, spoke on the significance of the Bhagavadgita as an ancient and time immemorial text of high philosophy. The book launch event was followed by an interactive session with the audience.
